Celebrating Trempealeau

Another connection to Trempealeau started with me trying my hand at cribbage in the spring of 2024. The Trempealeau Hotel has a Thursday night tournament open to the public. Putting on my big girl pants I went incognito to see if my skills were up to the task of not embarrassing myself 

 It can be awkward inserting yourself into a situation of knowing no one and not knowing the stakes. My fears were quickly diminishing as the bartender filled me in and by the time the evenings games were over I was a winner in more ways than I could count. Everyone was so welcoming, so I put this on my calendar to try every Thursday.

Forward ahead to the end of the year and the Hotel was hosting a wonderful event on Wednesday January 1, 2025  to close out the year and close for a much needed vacation til February 14 as they work not stop through out the year. Included in the festivities was a final cribbage play off for the afternoon. 

New cribbage faces were everywhere and after an exhausting but enjoyable 5 games I finished in fourth.

I'd like to give a big thank you to Amy and their wonderful staff for the great hospitality and creating an environment for all to enjoy.
