For the past year I've been working on my upcoming exhibit of original oil paintings that will open in August of 2026 at the Blue Heron Coffeehouse in Winona. This month I'm finishing up the last of the paintings and have begun framing and labeling approximately 70 paintings, most will make their debut at my show called From Great to Grand.
The title was partially inspired by a two trips I've taken to the North Shore of Minnesota. More specifically the areas around Grand Marais. As a member of the Outdoor Painters of Minnesota I joined fellow artists for a week long adventure painting at the Sugarloaf Cabins in Schroeder, MN. It allowed me to paint from Grand Portage to Grand Marais and many beautiful spots along the way.
The other inspiration The Great River Road is the area around where I live and play. From Lansing, Iowa through La Crosse, Wisconsin up to Winona, Minnesota. I never tire of the subject matter. Each adventure out to paint keeps me busy in the field plein air and in my studio.
In addition, I've created a collection of still lives focusing on Good Eats from around the area. After taking oil painting classes and exploring new techniques with Casey Wicka at the Winona Arts Center I can't resist the temptation to explore this subject matter through my painting.

I'll also be bringing over 100 unframed oil paintings just for the opening reception evening. With prices ranging from only $75 to $150 dollars for my 8x10 and 11x14 paintings. Cash and checks accepted.

Myths & Legends of Minnesota- May to Sept.-Minnesota Marine Art Museum, Winona

Refuge Artists display at Elmaro Vineyard and Winery, in Trempealeau, in the Crush Pad for the month of June, closing reception Sunday, June 28 from 1-4. Plus I’ll be joining other artists to plein air paint during Sunday’s Street Market at Elmaro every Sunday in June 1-4.
Three Rivers, Three Artists - October-Elmaro Winery
Painting friends Ellen Mc Donah, Kari Hogden and myself, joining together to paint and display our own interpretations of the Mississippi, Trempealeau and Black Rivers. In the Crush Pad at Elmaro Vineyard and Winery in Trempealeau for the month of October. Reception (TBA).

Painting is my passion as a visual artist. Working with oils in my Onalaska home studio and outside, plein air. I'm creating art inspired by my surroundings in order to connect and engage others to embrace the extraordinary. Always searching to discover new techniques to try on canvas.
