Artists Along the Trail- Sat. June 7

I'll be up early this Saturday to participate along with many other artists to paint along the trails in the Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge. Starting at 7am until 11am , then artists with display their mornings work at the OWL Center from 11:30am to 1pm while we all can enjoy lunch provided by the Friends of Trempealeau Refuge and funding by Michael Owecke Memorial Fund.

Just in case the lupines are done blooming. Here's one more painting I did in the studio to try and capture the blues.

Cloudy days are ok. These big billowy clouds appeared  suddenly over the refuge prairie, Trying to capture the moment then a little more work done in the studio.

Now that the main entrance to the Trempealeau Refuge it was time for me to get out anddo some painting on site to think about where I will set up for Artists Along the Trail. Details poster below.

Sunday at Old Main in Galesville

A Day at the Beach 8x10 oil

It wasn't exactly at the beach, but a beautiful day at Old Main Cultural Center. My last day to exhibit my paintings and it coincided with the The Ram Rods Car Club Car Show. So why not paint a car. This orange bug ready to take it's riders to surf the waves was the highlight of my painting. I just had to create the beach background.

 Thanks everyone for the kind words and checking out my show on the second floor. Special shout out to Sue Byom for inviting me to display my art and all the volunteers and board members were so welcoming.

 And the winner of "Afternoon at Old Main" was Angela R., she was attending the car show and got to take her painting home right away.

Dexter 8x10 oil

Dexter the Golden Retriever was a labor of love which I'll be giving to his owner. I had the chance to paint in the Gallery of Old Main Cultural Center in Galesville for last Sundays Event.

So far I've done 2 other dogs and the painting Afternoon at Old Main which I'll draw for a winner this Sunday. I decided to document the steps as I painted since I was meeting with a 5th grade Art Club on Monday with Sue Byom. Hope you enjoy my process.
