As a thank you to those that help us appreciate our natural setting, 20% of my sales in the Crush Pad at Elmaro during my May exhibit will be donated to the Friends of Trempealeau Refuge.  Also a special shout out to Bruce Bartel and Henrietta Burke for sharing their bird photos with me as inspiration for many of my paintings.

 This morning at Red Pines Cafe. Yes a new spot to get up and get going. Right next to their restaurant on Brice Prairie. I'll show the painting after I have a chance to tweek it.

Fish Advisory

Limit 1 Serving per Week.

 

Recommendations on safe limits for human consumption of fish, helps protect us from ingesting too much mercury and other toxins that pollute our waters.

So what are the birds suppose to do. They have no choice, no grocery store to go to or favorite fish monger they trust.

Will we have to create manmade ponds and swimming holes so they have a safe source for their survival?

For Millions Too Little Too Late.

 

The extinction of the Passenger Pigeon is hard to fathom when stories of the past tell of the skies blackened when they all took flight.

At Wyalusing State Park in Wisconsin, is a commemorative plaque reminding us of the avarice of man.

I had to look that word up too.

Avarice-noun, extreme greed for wealth or material gain.

 Knock, Knock, Who's There?

As cavity nesters,  woodpecker rely on standing dead trees

 to make a home to raise their young.

 

So maybe next time don’t be so quick,

 choosing to remove old trees. 

 See if you can live with it 

  because some birds can’t live  without them.
