I was fortunate to see the posting for an oil painting class in Winona. Even though I've take several workshops across Minnesota and Wisconsin, they were more focused on plein air painting and I know there is always more to learn about oils.
After two classes I'm loving Casey Wicka's, our instructors, approach to teaching. The class is set up for beginners or those more experienced anyone that wants to expose themselves to more techniques and supplies. Each week she has a new approach with different materials and they are all provides for the class. We have two hours to follow instruction using a guide and her help through demonstrating.
Just $25 for members of Winona Art Center or $30 each Tuesdays from 10- Noon. You can sign up for one at a time or like me I blocked in two months. But remember space is limited. They only go until just before Thanksgiving. I can't wait til we paint on Aluminum panels, always wanted to try it.
Pictured are her samples of what we painted in the first two classes. Above a simple landscape done with only palette knife and below we were treated to breakfast and painted the muffins this time using bristle brushes as well. The big surprise was the sand we added.
More information if you are interested. Highly recommend.
